Das Europäische Zentrum für Minderheitenfragen (ECMI) stützt sich auf die Synergie zwischen Standards, Forschung und Maßnahmen und ist Europas führende Institution bei der Umsetzung des Fahrplans für den Schutz und die Stärkung von Minderheiten.
Das ECMI hat seinen Sitz im deutsch-dänischen Grenzgebiet und befindet sich in einem historischen Gebäude im Zentrum von Flensburg. Es betreibt praxis- und politikorientierte Forschung, liefert Informationen und Dokumentationen und berät in Bezug auf die Beziehungen zwischen Minderheiten und Mehrheit in Europa.
Das ECMI wurde 1996 von den Regierungen Dänemarks, Deutschlands und Schleswig-Holsteins gegründet. Es handelt sich um eine unabhängige und interdisziplinäre Einrichtung, die sich auf ein internationales Kernpersonal stützt, das durch eine Reihe Senior Research Associates aus ganz Europa und darüber hinaus ergänzt wird.

The European Center for Minority Issues (ECMI) is based on the synergy between standards, research and action and is Europe's leading institution in implementing the Roadmap for the Protection and Empowerment of Minorities.
The ECMI is based in the German-Danish border area and is located in a historic building in the center of Flensburg. It conducts practice- and policy-oriented research, provides information and documentation and advises on relations between minorities and majority in Europe.
The ECMI was founded in 1996 by the governments of Denmark, Germany and Schleswig-Holstein. It is an independent and interdisciplinary body with a core international staff complemented by a number of Senior Research Associates from across Europe and beyond.

Det Europæiske Center for Minoritetsspørgsmål (ECMI) er baseret på synergien mellem standarder, forskning og handling og er Europas førende institution i gennemførelsen af køreplanen for beskyttelse og bemyndigelse af mindretal.
ECMI er baseret i det tysk-danske grænseområde og er beliggende i en historisk bygning i centrum af Flensborg. Det udfører praksis- og politikorienteret forskning, giver information og dokumentation og rådgiver om forbindelserne mellem mindretal og flertal i Europa.
ECMI blev grundlagt i 1996 af regeringerne i Danmark, Tyskland og Slesvig-Holsten. Det er et uafhængigt og tværfagligt organ med et centralt internationalt personale suppleret med en række Senior Research Associates fra hele Europa og udover.
